How to Tag your Items
Once Registered as a Consignor, our EASY barcoding system allows you to log in anytime, add items to your inventory, and print tags for FREE!  (PLEASE USE WHITE CARD STOCK OR WHITE MULTI-USE PAPER ONLY, colored card stock won't scan and it slows down the check out process)

LOG IN To Your Account for
JULY 2010 (Firestone)

LOG IN HERE ONLY TO RETRIEVE/TRANSFER ITEMS FROM PAST LAFAYETTE SALES

If you have limited internet access, you may hand write your tags, please follow our tagging guidelines closely.  Use legible handwriting, and if you make a mistake on a tag, PLEASE make a new tag.  No cross outs will be accepted -- this protects you!

COMPLETING THE TAGS (Both printed and handwritten)
1. Please use only white card stock or white computer paper only. Colored card stock or paper makes it difficult to scan the price tags.

2. If you are using the web browser Firefox your item descriptions may come out jumbled. Please try using another web browser to fix this problem.

3. Pin tags with SAFETY PINS ONLY to the right shoulder of the garment (when looking at it) as shown below. Please do not use straight pins or staples, as these do not hold tags on securely. Any item without a tag will not be sold, so be sure the tag is secure.

4. All clothes must be hung on hangers as shown. Make sure the hook is pointing to the left (make a question mark with the hanger). Also, place items such as comforters and bumper pads on a hanger.

5. Pin sets together with safety pins. Use only one tag for clothing sets that are pinned together, such as a shirt and short set. For larger sets, such as a comforter set with multiple items that are not attached or furniture, each item should have a tag. Fill out the first tag as normal but beneath the price include "1 of X", where X is the number of pieces. On all the other tags, write your seller number, the description, and "2 of X", "3 of X", etc. DO NOT write the price on any tag except the first. Only use multiple tags for separate pieces; do not use multiple tags for items that are attached together.

6. For small or grouped items packaged in zipper lock bags, tape tags to the outside of the zipper lock bags and seal the bag with tape. Although the tag should be taped secure, please be aware that the cashiers need to remove the tag at checkout - without damaging the item.

Handwritten Tag Instructions Only
Paper: Use plain, white (unlined, or use the back of a lined index card), 3 x 5 index cards only.
Seller Number: Write Consignor number about 1 inch down from the top, on the left of every tag, leaving room for the pin (see diagram below). All tags without a Consignor number will not be sold.

Half-Price Sale: Only Mark a "RED CIRCLE" in the bottom left corner if you DO NOT want to reduce your price for the half-price sale. If there is not a Red Circle then it will be sold at half-price during that portion of the sale.

Brief Description: In the middle of the tag, please write a description of the item. Include the brand, color, and type of item (pants, shirt, 3 pc. outfit). If the tag falls off the item, the better the description, the easier it is to match it up with the item. For larger sets, such as a comforter set with multiple items that are not attached or furniture, each item should have a tag. Fill out the first tag as normal but beneath the Description include "1 of X", where X is the number of pieces. On all the other tags, write your seller number, the description, and "2 of X", "3 of X", etc. DO NOT write the price on any tag except the first. Only use multiple tags for separate pieces; do not use multiple tags for items that are attached together.

Size: In the upper Right Corner write the size of the item. Do not use S, M, L, for anything other than maternity clothing. (0-3mo, 3-6mo, 6-9mo, 9-12mo, 12-18mo, 18-24mo, 2T, 3T, 4T, 5T, 6, 7, 8 … 20)

Pricing: In the bottom Right corner put the price you would like for each item. Items must be priced at $2.00 OR ABOVE, in whole or half dollar amounts. Items of lesser value may be combined. Price your items so they will sell quickly. A good rule of thumb is 1/3 of the new price if it is in good condition and 1/4 if it is in fair condition. Evaluate your prices; would you pay that price for the item?

Donating Items: If you do not want to come and pick up unsold items please put a "D" in the bottom left corner indicating that you would like to donate that item.
CLOTHING
•  The better your clothing looks, the better it will sell! Please check for stains, faded, broken zippers, frayed hemlines, missing buttons, etc. We will be inspecting items at check-in and will not take any item that is not in excellent condition. All clothing must be hung on hangers.
• We are accepting Baby, Children's, Junior, and maternity clothing for this event. At this time we will accept all seasons, but remember that most shoppers are looking for current season clothing and therefore any off-season clothing should be priced accordingly. Costumes are in high demand.
• $2.00 rule: If you have single clothing items that you value at less than $2.00, please pair them up with like items so that they will equal a value of at least $2.00.
• Safety pin all sets and accessories securely together. With pants hung on the back of the shirt at the waist. Both pieces need to be viewable without unpinning them.
SHOES
Please only bring your clean, like-new shoes. Shoes can be difficult to tag. Please tie, buckle, or put in a clear zip bag to keep them together. Be sure to pin the tag to the shoe laces or the strap. (Limit of 20 pairs per consignor)
BEDDING
It is best to package bedding sets together in a clear plastic bag with a zipper.
BLANKETS
Hang and pin blankets over hangers so that shoppers can see them. Blankets don't usually sell well, so please only bring your best.
LOOSE ITEMS
Bottles, bibs, rattles, socks, bows, etc group together appropriately in zip bags. Seal with clear packing tape. Pin tag to zip bag.

TOYS, FURNITURE AND EQUIPMENT
Must be clean and in working order (batteries included.) Small parts must be bagged and attached to the main part very securely. If parts get separated it will not sell. Games should be taped closed. Puzzles, books, videos and small toys should be grouped accordingly and put in Zip bags. Secure with clear packing tape and pin tag to the Zip bag. TOYS NOT PACKAGED APPROPRIATELY WILL BE TURNED AWAY OR DONATED.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT STUFFED ANIMALS!

Large Little Tykes Toys and Furniture are in high demand! Let us know if you need help with picking up your large toy items.

CAR SEATS
For legal reasons, we cannot accept car seats that have been manufactured any earlier than 2007 or have been in an accident. Car seats must not have been subject to recall. We have websites available for you to check once you have consigned with us. All seat covers and straps must be thoroughly cleaned.
PRICING RECOMMENDATIONS
Pricing your items is always a challenge as you attempt to balance receiving fair market value with the risk of over pricing or under pricing your items. There are several "rules of thumb" for pricing based upon a percentage of the retail price. However, given all of the other factors involved in pricing such as quality, market demand, etc., there really is no magic formula beyond what the market will bear at any given point in time. Usually pricing your items 30-50% off the retail price is what shoppers are looking for.

Check your items for Recall Alerts! We do not want to sell something dangerous to be used by children.
